Invoking this command from the FIELD menu, or by clicking the command button whose icon appears on this card, creates a Pop-Up field and a transparent companion button. When the companion button is clicked, the PopUp field (and any text you may put in it) will appear. When the field is locked, clicking on the field itself will cause the field to disappear again. PopUp fields are ideal for labels on diagrams, for incidental comments, and for getting a bit of extra information onto an already crowded slide. PopUp fields are preset for 24-point SmartTimes, left-aligned, opaque, with wide margins, and are (lightly) shadowed.
When first created, the PopUp field appears at right center, about 2" x 2", and the associated button is created as a small transparent button at the extreme left margin of the screen, beside the lower left corner of the slide area. It's outline can be seen by selecting the button tool. The field and the button can of course be moved, and their styles changed as desired. For example, you may wish to place the button over a portion of a diagram, and use the field as a nearby
pop-up label for that portion of the diagram.
Deleting a PopUp field will automatically delete its associated button as well. Attempting to delete the button first will cause the field to appear, along with a message asking you to delete the field first. This prevents you from accidentally deleting the button when the field is hidden, since that would leave you with no simple way to find the field again.
